Dr. Tim Muehlhoff

Tim is an associate professor of communication at Biola University in LaMirada, California where he teaches courses in marital/family communication, interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution. He completed a Ph.D. in communication theory at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2003) where he received his department’s highest award for teaching and recently has been recognized by the International Communication Association for outstanding teaching. Tim’s dissertation focused on helping couples move past marital gridlock—difficult issues in marriage that won’t go away—by working through an original four-phase communication model. For the past eight years Tim and Noreen have been frequent speakers at Family Life Marriage Conferences. Tim has written about marriage, God, and communication in diverse magazines and journals such as Discipleship Journal, Mars Hill Review, Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, and the Journal of Religion and Communication. The Muehlhoff’s live in Brea, California with their three boys—Michael (13), Jason (11), and Jeremy (8).

Lee, Soon Ja

Dr. Lee received her Ph D. degree in Counseling Psychology from Andrews University in the State of Michigan. During the course of the doctoral degree she conducted an extensive doctoral dissertation to explore the martial satisfaction factors for Korean Americans. Re-creation of Love is the theme of her work. She loves to work with couples. Her life enduring passion is to revitalize marriages with love and couple’s skills. Then, she believes that the kids will mature with self-confidence, vibrancy, and happiness. She is ever busy to meet the demands of various community settings. She goes to school districts, churches, and other setting to provide marriage and /or parenting seminars. Her speech is equipped with the update science of psychology and the full of practical skills to take home with.

Her speech is passionate and humorous. At present she has two private practice offices, works for Shriners Hospital for children as a consulting psychologist, provides lectures a as guest professor in PSU, leads a live radio program for Radio-Seoul AM 1650 for family matters, provides seminars at various community settings, and writes articles as a columnist for the Korea Times News Papers.

 

Dr. Keith J. Edwards, Ph. D., Ph. D.

Dr. Edwards is currently Professor of Psychology at Rosemead School of Psychology, Biola University, La Mirada, CA. He has been a member of the Rosemead Faculty since 1973 and has served as Director of Research and Dean during that time. He currently teaches courses in couple therapy, individual therapy, and research methods. Dr. Edwards is also a licensed clinical psychologist and maintains a private practice specializing in marriage therapy. He has conducted professional training seminars, marriage enrichment seminars, marriage retreats, and men’s retreats. He is also interested in spirituality and spiritual formation and has authored numerous articles on assessing spiritual development. He is a staff associate of the Narramore Christian Foundation and has conducted seminars on marriage and missionary care in Europe, Asia, and South America.

Dr. Edwards’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater and an M.A. and Ph.D. in quantitative and research methods from New Mexico State University (1969). He holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Southern California (1984). He has held faculty positions at Rutgers University and Johns Hopkins University before joining the Rosemead faculty in 1973.

He lives in Hacienda Heights, CA with his wife, Ginny, who is a retired elementary school teacher. The Edwards have been married since 1966 and have 3 married children and six grandchildren.
